I know that I have been absent from this page and from Instagram for a long while now---but there is an excellent, small, very alive reason: my husband and I were delighted to welcome our daughter Rose Marie McComb into the world on November 12, 2020. I have used my days since then learning to care for her. Life doesn't feel very balanced yet--each day is an endurance marathon of feeding, diaper changing, laundry, cleaning and cooking. But as Rose grows, so does my hope that my hands will hold pencils, paintbrushes, and needles again, and my life will stretch to encompass being a housewife, a mother---and an artist.

I made this set of wooden ornaments as a present for my parents for Christmas this year. Each ornament has a tiny portrait that I painted of my niece and nephews.
I finished this drawing commission last month, and I am glad that it is home with its family now. It was a rather lengthy and relatively large drawing done in colored pencil on bristol of a small and somewhat blurry photo of a tree that was cut down. The drawing ended up surprisingly stylized, but it is very brilliantly colored in person.
Dandelion Clocks graphite on paper 2019 I realize that I am belated updating this website, but here are some new pieces to make up for my tardiness. Hopefully I can be more regular about posting my new work over the coming months. Ryan Practicing Guitar graphite on paper 2019 Cortney's Book oil on canvas 2019 Daffodils graphite on paper 2019
